    1. On a 10-question test, Carly can earn 5 points for a correct answer, 0 points for an incorrect answer, and 1 point for no answer. There are six scores between 1 and 50 which are impossible for Carly to earn. What is the least of these impossible scores?

    2. Krystal is on the fast pitch softball team. She can find her batting average by dividing the number of hits by the number of times at bat. Find her current batting average if she has made eight hits in thirty-two times at bat. There is one more game in the season, and Krystal figures she will bat four more times. Is it possible for Krystal to raise her batting average above .300 if she does well in the last game?

    3. Four goats are kept in a square pen. Each side of the pen is 16 meters long. Each goat is tied to a post in a separate corner of the pen. Each goat is tied with a rope 8 meters long. The goats eat all of the grass within their reach. What is the area of the pen that the goats cannot reach?
